Krishna lists 26 divine qualities (daivi sampad) — fearlessness, purity, generosity, self-control, simplicity, non-violence, truthfulness, freedom from anger, peace, compassion. He also lists demonic qualities (asuri sampad) — pride, arrogance, harshness, anger, ignorance. The chapter describes the inner life of those who lead destructive lives — chained by desire and anger, they fall into lower wombs life after life.

त्रिविधं नरकस्येदं द्वारं नाशनमात्मनः कामः क्रोधस्तथा लोभस्तस्मादेतत्त्रयं त्यजेत् — The three gates to hell are desire, anger, and greed. Abandon them.
Tri-vidhaṃ narakasyedaṃ dvāraṃ nāśanam ātmanaḥ kāmaḥ krodhas tathā lobhas tasmād etat trayaṃ tyajet
