Bhagavad Gita Chapter 12
Bhakti Yoga — భక్తి యోగం
20 verses · The Path of Devotion
Arjuna asks: who is better, the worshipper of the manifest (Saguna) Krishna, or the unmanifest (Nirguna) Brahman? Krishna says: those who worship the manifest with love attain me more easily. The unmanifest path is harder for embodied beings. He then describes the 39 qualities of the ideal devotee (verses 13-19) — friendly to all, free from hatred and ego, equanimous, content, self-controlled.
Key Verse
मय्यर्पितमनोबुद्धिर्यो मद्भक्तः स मे प्रियः — He who surrenders mind and intellect to Me, that devotee is dear to Me.
Mayy-arpita-mano-buddhir yo mad-bhaktaḥ sa me priyaḥ
తన మనస్సు బుద్ధిని నాకు సమర్పించిన భక్తుడు నాకు ప్రియమైనవాడు
