Free Vedic Astrology Calculators — How They Work
All our calculators use the Lahiri (Chitra-paksha) Ayanamsa — the official ayanamsa adopted by the Government of India and the basis for all standard Vedic panchangam computations. Planetary positions are computed using VSOP87 (planets) + ELP-2000/82 (Moon) algorithms, accurate to within ~1 arc-minute for years 1900-2100. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser — your birth data is never sent to our servers or third parties.

Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate are these calculators?
Our calculators match commercial panchangam software (Drik Panchang, mPanchang) within ~1 minute for tithi/nakshatra start-end times and within ~1 degree for planetary positions. We use the same Lahiri ayanamsa and similar planetary models. For absolute precision (event timing to the second), consult a qualified astrologer with full ephemeris software.
Do I need exact birth time?
For Lagna (Rising Sign) and house placements, yes — accurate to within 4 minutes is recommended. Lagna shifts every 2 hours, so even a 30-minute error can change your Lagna. If birth time is unknown, you can still compute your Rashi (Moon Sign) and Nakshatra using just the date and approximate time (e.g., noon).
Is my birth data stored anywhere?
No. All calculations happen entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No data is sent to our servers, no cookies set, no analytics tracking on calculator pages. You can use the calculators offline once the page is loaded.
