Types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary (always active)

Session cookies for essential site function — city selection, theme preference (light/dark), subscribe-widget dismissal. No consent required under DPDP §7 / GDPR Recital 32.

Analytics

No cookies, and nothing third-party. Google Analytics was removed from this site on 2026-08-25 and no third-party analytics has replaced it. What remains is a counter of our own: when you click a link that leaves the site, we store the page you were on and the destination domain. It sets no cookie and stores no IP address, user agent or identifier of any kind, so there is nothing capable of recognising you on a later visit — which is why it needs no consent under DPDP §7 / GDPR. It is switched off completely for browsers sending DNT: 1 or Global Privacy Control.

Advertising

This site carries advertising from Google AdSense. Ads are labelled “Advertisement”, capped at two per page, kept out of the panchangam tables themselves, and never placed beside navigation. Google and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to serve, frequency-cap and measure those ads — and, where you have consented, to personalise them. Google describes that processing in How Google uses information from sites that use our services.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google shows a certified consent message on your first visit; unless you consent, you get non-personalised ads only. Anywhere in the world you can switch personalised advertising off at Google My Ad Center — that setting applies to every site you visit, not just this one.

Product links to Amazon are plain links — Amazon sets its own cookies only after you leave this site for amazon.in.

How to change your choice

• Advertising: visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see Google’s certified consent message on their first visit, and can reopen it from the privacy options link Google places on the page. Everyone else — and EEA visitors too — can turn personalised ads off at Google My Ad Center.
• Analytics: no third-party analytics and no analytics cookie, so there is nothing to consent to. Our own outbound-link counter stores no identifier, and switches off entirely if your browser sends DNT: 1 or Global Privacy Control.
• To clear the functional preferences (city, theme): browser Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → "Cookies and other site data" for nityapanchangam.com.

Do Not Track

We act on it. The outbound-link counter above is the only thing of ours DNT could switch off, and it sends nothing when your browser sets DNT: 1 or Global Privacy Control. Google, like essentially every ad network, does not act on the DNT header — so DNT will not stop advertising cookies. Use the consent message (EEA / UK / Switzerland) or Google My Ad Center (everywhere) for those; they actually take effect.

Third-party embeds

WhatsApp Channel links and embedded YouTube/social widgets (if any) may set their own cookies when clicked. We link, we don't embed those services on load.
