Regional Variations of Karva Chauth 2027
Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh: the principal region, where the fast is near universal among married women. Maharashtra and Gujarat: observed in North Indian settled families rather than traditionally. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana: not traditional — Atla Taddi in Ashwina serves the same purpose for Telugu women, and Karva Chauth is kept mainly by North Indian families settled in Hyderabad. Note that moonrise time differs by city, so the fast is broken later in the west and earlier in the east.
