Significance

Vaikunta Ekadashi is the most important of all Ekadashi fasting days. It falls on the 11th day of the bright fortnight of Pushya/Margashira month. On this day, the Vaikunta Dwara (door to Vishnu's heavenly abode) is said to open. Devotees who observe fast and pray on this day are believed to attain moksha (liberation).

Significance (ప్రాముఖ్యత)

వైకుంఠ ఏకాదశి అన్ని ఏకాదశులలో శ్రేష్ఠమైనది. ఈ రోజు వైకుంఠ ద్వారం తెరుచుకుంటుందని నమ్మకం. ఉపవాసం ఉండి విష్ణువును పూజించిన వారికి మోక్షం లభిస్తుందని పురాణ వచనం.

How to Celebrate — Rituals

1. 1Observe strict fast (Nirjala Ekadashi or with fruits only)
2. 2Stay awake night (Jaagaran) reciting Vishnu Sahasranama
3. 3Visit Vishnu temple and enter through Vaikunta Dwara
4. 4Recite Bhagavad Gita and Vishnu Purana
5. 5Offer Tulsi leaves to Lord Vishnu
6. 6Break fast on Dwadashi (12th day) morning

Rituals (ఆచారాలు)

1. 1ఏకాదశి రోజు కఠిన ఉపవాసం ఉండాలి
2. 2రాత్రి జాగారం చేసి విష్ణు సహస్రనామం పఠించాలి
3. 3వైకుంఠ ద్వారం ద్వారా దేవాలయ ప్రవేశం చేయాలి
4. 4తులసి ఆకులు విష్ణువుకు సమర్పించాలి
5. 5ద్వాదశి నాడు ఉపవాస విరమణ చేయాలి
